Introducing the Fanancial
ICYMI I just launched something I’ve been quietly building for the past few weeks. *Note for those of you who follow me on LinkedIn, this is just a duplication of that post.
Introducing the Fanancial
It’s a vibe-coded web app built my a non-developer (me) without any development help. It answers the question:
“Have pro sports teams outperformed the stock market?”
The simple answer is yes but what I wanted to do was visualize and interact with the data. So I build a web app.
Here's what you can do at Fanancial:
👉 Track team valuations across NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB
👉 Compare teams, cities, and leagues
👉 See how sports stacks up vs capital markets
👉 Build and share custom portfolios
👉 Research "the why" behind the growth
How did I do it without writing a single line of code?
1. Built custom GPTs to find the publicly available unstructured data & structure it.
2. Leveraged Supabase for database, backend services and edge functions.
3. Got really really good at using Lovable. In general vibe coding tools are being used for prototyping (that's how we've implemented its use at ZayZoon) but not to "finish' something.
4. I really needed to know, as a "non-developer" if you could actually finish and release a web app. You actually can. This web app is relatively simple, but it's done.
My goals for this site aren't necessarily to generate traffic or get more email subs or somehow be paid to talk about sports (please someone do this). The goal was to go deep with vibe coding and AI, and see if I could make anything. Mission accomplished.
Would love your feedback...especially if you're into sports, finance, AI, or shipping cool side projects.
